The Best Spots in ATL

I have only been in Atlanta for about 4 months, but I have made it my mission to discover the best activities to do here. I can’t wait to share them with you. For more ideas visit @itslucawhitaker on Instagram.

  1. Piedmont park

A moment away from the city madness…

This is the best place to relax, have a picnic, or take a run. I love coming here on a sunny day and watch everyone enjoy the beauty of Atlanta together. Piedmont park is HUGE so there are so many areas to explore. Also, sometimes I’ll take bird scooters and ride around. It is so fun! Parking is always difficult, so I either try to find a spot along the streets or just find a public parking garage and pay.

2. RH Modern Rooftop

The best free view!

I love coming to RH modern to watch the sunset and walk around their show rooms. It’s the best free activity! Plus, you can see a super cool perspective of the city looking down at the Shops of Buckhead!

3. My favorite vegan restaurant

Cafe Sunflower is such a great vegan restaurant that everyone will love. I have taken meat lovers to this place, and they can’t tell the difference.

I would recommend the buffalo wings and Caesar salad with fake chicken.

4. Krog Street Market

This reminds me of Ponce City Market, but I think it has much better restaurants. It is located along the BeltLine trail at Edgewood Avenue in Inman Park. You can find an array of restaurants. My favorite is Recess. They offer delicious vegetarian bowls and Mexican food. The sushi restaurant, Makimono, is also great.

5. Coffee Shops

My favorite past time is discovering new coffee shops. I have been to quite a few in Atlanta, so I am sharing my top picks

Muchacho

“Breakfast tacos, grain bowls & cocktails in a casual all-day cafe with retro West Coast vibes.” I love being surrounded by nature while enjoying the amazing food and coffee Muchacho offers. They are only open for outdoor dinning due to COVID, however, it is a great place to get together with friends or study. They also have outdoor heaters! It’s located off the belt-line so make sure you take a walk afterwards and enjoy the natural beauty of ATL. Their blue matcha & avocado toast are my go-to. If you go there, be sure to tell them I say hi!

Cafe Intermezzo

“European-style coffeehouse that offers more than 800 beverages & 70 pastries plus crêpes, burgers & more.” This place gives me classy European vibes. I love having brunch with friends. Not the best place to study, but definitely good for a …

“European-style coffeehouse that offers more than 800 beverages & 70 pastries plus crêpes, burgers & more.” This place gives me classy European vibes. I love having brunch with friends. Not the best place to study, but definitely good for a nice meal and coffee! They have multiple locations, but I love the design of the Dunwoody cafe. The Midtown location is always super crowded, especially on weekends.

I found this gem when my roommate and I were looking for a place to work. It is located off of the beltline on Auburn Ave. The decor is so unique and the small room gives a cozy feeling. They also have a speakeasy bar and restaurant in the back.
